About the Program

Whether you’re looking to pursue a career in government, nonprofit organizations, public policy, academia or any variety of fields, a Master of Arts in Political Science from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will strengthen your understanding of all aspects of politics—such as political behavior, institutions of government, international relations and international finance, policy-making, protest and revolution, and more. Our renowned faculty will provide you with specialized research methods and approaches, including elite interviewing, survey research, field and archival research, and comparative case study analysis. Plus, you’ll have the chance to pack your resume with hands-on experience acquired through internships and postgraduate opportunities—and gain access to a network of supportive contacts along the way.

What to Expect

In as little as one year, you’ll complete 30 hours of coursework while acquiring fundamental knowledge of the discipline through study of areas such as:

  • American politics and government,
  • Comparative politics,
  • International relations and
  • Research methods.

Plus, you’ll hone your specialty through electives—which you’ll choose with the guidance of your program director. 

You’ll culminate your degree with your choice of a thesis or examination to demonstrate your mastery of the field of political science.
 

Because of my time at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, I know that my path will lead me to running for public office. Advocacy, constituent work, and ethical leadership are what I want to dedicate my life to.

Admissions Details

When reviewing your profile for admission consideration, we require the following:

  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of objectives
  • Academic transcripts
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results with minimum scores of 153 on verbal , 144 on quantitative, and 4.5 on analytical sections.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores (for international students only) with a minimum score of at least 577 on the paper version or at least 90 on the computer version of the TOEFL. A score of 7.0 is required on the International English Language Testing System.
