What to Expect
Our program offers you flexibility in your education. You can choose to study full or part time to fit your schedule. Plus, you’ll have the option to take a 30-credit-hour, coursework-based track—selecting from a wide variety of specialties such as biochemistry, electrochemistry, solar energy and more—or explore those concepts through research with the thesis track.
Students looking to tap into their enterprising side can explore the Chemistry Entrepreneurship Program (CEP), a two-year track. You can expect the same rigorous coursework as your classmates but with a mentor from the department to connect you to the world of entrepreneurship, where you’ll network with business leaders, meet with intellectual property experts and pitch venture capitalists.
Through your classes, you’ll gain a solid understanding of topics such as inorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and drug development, computational chemistry, and modern chemistry for innovation. You’ll also have the chance to participate in a weekly seminar——in which experts in the field discuss their research.
You can also expand further with electives in other disciplines, additional graduate courses or advanced undergraduate classes.
