The HR Policies contains policies, procedures, benefits, and services for which HR is the responsible office. Please refer to the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Compliance Office website for a complete list and information on all university policies.
The HR Polices Table of Contents can be found here. Not all policies, procedures, and practices are included. The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Compliance Office maintains a list of and detailed information on university policies representing other departments online. Employees are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and abiding by all university policies, procedures, and practices.
- Staff and Senior Staff: All HR Policies apply to Staff (SG 17 and below) and Senior Staff (SG 18 and above). Additionally, all HR Policies apply to appointed staff positions, such as Research Associates, Sr. Research Associates, and Research Scientists.
- Executive Staff: Most HR Policies apply to Executive Staff (ungraded positions). A few policies will not, as indicated in each policy.
- Faculty: Only certain HR Policies apply to Faculty, as indicated in each policy. Additional policies applicable to Faculty are found in the Faculty Handbook, located on the Faculty Senate website. To the extent that any HR Policy and the Faculty Handbook contradict, the Faculty Handbook controls.
- Postdoctoral scholars and fellows (PostDocs): Only a limited few HR Policies apply to postdoctoral scholars or fellows. PostDocs should assume the HR Policies do not relate to them unless they are explicitly included. Postdoctoral policies for scholars and postdoctoral fellows are located on the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs website.
- Student Employees: The HR Policies do not apply to Student Employees. Student employees should refer to the Student Employment Handbook, located on the Financial Aid website. Some HR policies apply to all persons on ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ property, regardless of their purpose for being there.
- Temporary Employees: The HR Policies do not apply to temporary employees. Temporary employees should consult their temporary agency for policies and procedures.
Select HR policies apply to all persons on ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ property, regardless of their purpose for being there.
None of the HR Policies are intended to interfere with employees’ Section 7 and 8 (a)(1) rights.
Under no circumstances are the statements contained in these policies to be considered a contract of employment, an obligation, or guarantee on the part of the university.
Employees should contact the Human Resources Department if they have any questions about any aspect of their employment, by email at AskHR@case.edu, by phone at 216-368-6964, or in person by visiting the HR Service Center located in Crawford Hall, Room 320.
