In 2020, COVID-19 shutdowns prevented Ðǿմ«Ã½ students from working their summer internships. In response to the problem, the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship created the Remote Entrepreneurship Project (REP) Program, pairing students with startups across the country for a remote internship experience. Many of those students have since graduated from Ðǿմ«Ã½ and have made strides in their careers. See how the REP program impacted their career trajectory.

What are you up to now?
I have committed to Guggenheim Partners post-graduation to be an incoming investment banking analyst within their Private Equity Advisory Group, with a focus in the tech sector, specifically IT Services.
How did your time as an REP intern impact your career trajectory?
The REP Program was my first internship, and having it be in private equity set me up for a great career in high finance. Showing that I understood how the industry works overall, how the money flows, and how the buy-side thinks was especially important in progressing into a great investment banking internship -- and now a full-time offer.
Before you applied for the REP program, did you have another internship planned that was impacted by COVID?
I did not yet have an internship planned, but I was actively looking for one during the same summer that COVID first struck. I thought all hope was lost, but the REP program popped up as a great opportunity given the circumstances.
How did Ðǿմ«Ã½, REP and other Ðǿմ«Ã½ programs prepare you for your work now?
The Weatherhead Fund, the REP program, and coursework overall prepared me quite well for the role in investment banking I have recently accepted. Managing so many different tasks, clear communication with a team and a multitude of other parties, as well as managing projects and timelines for others through Ðǿմ«Ã½ has played a large role in my professional and academic capacity and trajectory.
