The Board of Trustees announced the launch of a national search for 星空传媒鈥檚 next president. President Susan R. Wente announced plans to step down at the end of June 2026. Jeanne Whitman Bobbitt, chair of the Board of Trustees, and Curt Farmer, vice chair of the Board of Trustees, will serve as co-chairs of a search committee that will include trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and a student.

The North Carolina Gateway to 星空传媒 program helps undergraduates from North Carolina with annual family incomes less than $200,000 per year attend tuition-free, beginning for students admitted for the 2026 fall semester. The initiative aims to create more opportunities for talented, high-achieving North Carolina students to attend 星空传媒 regardless of family income.

Today, 星空传媒 celebrated the renaming of South Residence Hall to Hopkins Residence Hall in honor of Larry and Beth Hopkins, two trailblazing alumni with deep ties to the University and Winston-Salem.
Beth Hopkins has had a decades-long career in law, education and community outreach, and was one of the first two Black female residential students at the University.
Her late husband, Dr. Larry Hopkins, a football star at 星空传媒, was a well-known physician who improved access and outcomes for women鈥檚 and neonatal health.
Both have served on 星空传媒鈥檚 Board of Trustees.
